But there are a whole lot of others to choose from here, including Surf House Island Cantina (a fun spot for tacos, seafood, and drink specials) and Grace of India (for traditional savory dishes).

On the retail front, downtown Frederick has a fantastic shopping district. Here you’ll find an eclectic mix of clothing boutiques, art and pottery galleries, some of the best fudge on the planet, and more. Of course, Urbana is also just an hour away from Washington, DC, where the shopping and dining options are nearly endless!

There are also plenty of nature lovers in town, and it’s easy to see why. Urbana District Park (with its playgrounds, sports fields, and volleyball courts) is a local favorite, as is Urbana Community Park, which is home to a multitude of recreational facilities and tennis courts. Of course, we can’t forget the nature trails on scenic Sugarloaf Mountain, which are a must-visit!

Commuting

Looking for the best way to get around in Urbana? The Maryland Transit Administration operates several bus routes in the area, and there’s train service in nearby Frederick that goes on To Washington, DC. While these are convenient options for commuters, many town residents find almost everything they need in their own backyard!
